Apparently the Finnish translator of J.K. Rowling’s new book has agreed to translate all 480 pages in three weeks, without even reading the book first. That works out to 23 pages a day for 21 days and sounds like an almost impossible challenge. Has the translator has borrowed Hermione Granger’s time-turner in order to gain a few extra months to complete the mammoth task? Or is a sweatshop full of Finnish-English translators warming up their fingers and getting ready to type? Most curious. More info in this piece by Jill Timbers over at Intralingo.
